YarnSteps

A cute and beginner-friendly chicken coaster worked mainly in double crochet, with a scalloped body, raised head, comb, beak, and eye.

Finished Size

Approximately 4 in / 10 cm in diameter, depending on yarn, hook size, and tension.

The pattern can easily be enlarged by using a thicker yarn and larger hook or by adding additional increase rounds before shaping the chicken.

Materials

  • Himalaya Himagrumi Cotton yarn, or similar cotton yarn

  • Main color for the body
  • Red for the comb
  • Yellow for the beak

  • 2.20 mm crochet hook

  • Movable/craft eye
  • Cold silicone adhesive or suitable craft glue
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Crochet Terms & Abbreviations

This pattern uses US terminology.
